Inner Spiral — Metal

Most visitors to the Subway face upstream, drawn to the iconic tunnel of light. I wanted the other story — the one behind you, where the canyon closes and the light softens to a whisper. A still emerald pool holds scattered autumn leaves like small offerings, and the sculpted sandstone curves inward in a slow spiral, drawing the eye toward the deepening dark beyond. The greens and golds are subdued, the blues cool and gentle. Late in the day, with the crowds gone, the space felt less like a slot canyon and more like a place of rest — peaceful, unhurried, pulling you gently toward stillness.
