Golden Grove — Loose Print

The composition looks simple — aspens, grasses, sky — but the longer you sit with it the more it gives. Near Sundance in late fall I found this grove where the white trunks stood spaced just so, each one holding a canopy of bright gold against a soft blue sky. Below, the grasses shifted through their own spectrum: deep green at the base, then amber, then gold where they caught the light. The panoramic format let me stretch the scene wide and unhurried, the way it actually felt standing there. Nothing dramatic, nothing competing — just color, texture, and the kind of warmth that no single frame could hold.
